It is located near the north-west coast of the island, off the Ampasindava peninsula, about an hour and a half from Nosy Be (depending on the marine weather conditions of Madagascar). Once you get there you can comment on yourself … already from the boat you perceive the scenario that is waiting for you … two islands, a larger Iranja Be and a smaller Iranja Kely, connected by a white sand tongue just over a kilometer and a half long, passable during the low tide, in the middle of a crystalline sea with colors ranging from blue to turquoise and the blue of the sky. The beaches of Nosy Iranja have been chosen by green turtles to lay their eggs, it is not difficult on this island to be able to witness the hatching, an exciting event that will make your eyes shine with joy for a lifetime! Nosy Iranja is surrounded by magic … in addition to its paradisiacal beaches where you can relax under the palm trees or where you can take a bath in its warm and clear waters, it is the ideal place to take pictures … the black color of the local people goes well with that of white sand. Along a village and a path immediately after it, you can get to the lighthouse and the school, and from above the sight of the sand thongue and Iranja kely will leave you breathless! If you want to experience the island from sunset to dawn … you can not but immerse yourself in a dream … everything to experience with us!
The word itself says it, in Malagasy “Tani” means earth and “Kely” means small, so “Little Earth”. Approximately 35 minutes distant, an island south of Nosy be, where we find the only marine park in the north of Madagascar. It is delicious both for its submarine biodiversity and its emerged part. For the divers it is a big aquarium, a sea suitable even for the young peaple, for those who want to do only snorkeling or those who simply want to relax taking a bath and then sunbathe or take a nap under a palm tree! For lunch, instead, we move to Nosy Komba. It is the highest island of all Madagascar. Passing inside the village of the fishermen it is possible to arrive to the natural park that hosts lemuri makaco, snake boas, land turtles and chameleons, a real attraction for tourists! There are also local craft markets to bring home all souvenirs made in Madagascar.
It is also called “the island of orchids”. Located to the north-west of Nosy be and only 10 minutes of navigation far, it is an island that is still little frequented by tourism. It houses a few hundred inhabitants located in three main villages joined together by paths along which it is easy to find different plantations of coffee, vanilla, and many exotic fruits. Ambohibe, the Sacred Mountain, is rich in tropical plants. It is just under the sacred mountain that there is a bay where green turtles have found their favorite eating, so it is easy to see them by snorkeling at any time because they are settled permanently.
It takes its name from its not distant inhabitants, flying foxes, “fanihy” in Malagasy. A sacred island divided by a coralligenous part, a white beach made of fragments of corals merging with its wild part, a small forest. Everything around here is pristine, silent. Its crystal clear waters are ideal for a relaxing bath and to discover, with only a mask, beautiful seabed.
