Nosy Be is a delightful volcanic island located 8 kilometers from the northwest coast of Madagascar and has about 60,000 inhabitants. Nosy be in the traditional Malagasy language means “big island”, and is among the most touristic of all Madagascar. Loved not only by divers is a destination that will leave astonished for its beauty, even out of the water, anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the most total nature. An important resource is agriculture, there are many coffee, vanilla, cocoa and cinnamon plantations, but not only … walking along the streets it is not difficult to find the typical fragrant flower “ylang-ylang”, from which extract the essence used in perfume industry.
Nosy be is surrounded by an archipelago of other smaller islands including Nosy Komba (famous for makaco lemurs), Nosy Sakatia, Nosy Tanikely, Nosy Mitsio, Nosy Ratzy, Nosy Fanihy, Nosy Faly, Nosy Mamoko and Nosy Iranja, as well as numerous islets uninhabited like Nosy Kivongy, Nosy Antsoha and Nosy Ankazoberavina.
A wild and uncontaminated nature, rich in plant and animal species, of which 90% are endemic, with rice fields, bananas trees and rural villages, with huts made of wood and palm roofs.
